My Kitchen Wish List

Cath Kidston teapot and cups

As my friend was serving tea from her beautiful Cath Kidston teapot in to matching cups  she mentioned how she would love to get her hands on a “super fridge”.

Though with her kitchen being designed with an under counter fridge there is little room for such a masterpiece of equipment and to change it now would be too expensive. This got me thinking about what would be on my kitchen wish list for my perfect kitchen design. With my kitchen being the heart of the home, the space would need to be very multifunctional, space for cooking, baking, entertaining, homework and finally somewhere to chill.

The kitchen must look good, but if it is all looks and no function then it is not going to work for me.

Pendant Light

Lighting is important for me to create the correct atmosphere for entertaining, yet the lighting must be sufficient for doing tasks, getting the balance right is important. Natural light is ok with the roof lights directly over the work space area. Adding an eye catching pendant light over the kitchen table will provide a focal point, this Original BTC Drop One Matt Bone China Group Pendant Light from Heals is very striking

The floor must be practical, easy to clean, good quality, and bit understated to match in with the decor.

Sub-zero Fridge Freezers

A real luxury in appliances would be a Sub-Zero Integrated Side by Side Fridge Freezer in Stainless Steel, which allows you to see everything at a single glance, no bobbing down on your hands and knees to find that missing ingredient. This cold storage master would be the ultimate treat.

For a gadget I would choose a bean-to-cup coffee machine with the proviso that it is easy to use and clean.

Cookery books

Having lots of cookery books, shelving is a great way to keep them to hand.

Another item which is important is a larder cupboard, if there is limited space for a pantry.

Orla Kiely multi stem wallpaper

Finally after living with paintwork on the cool side for several years, a warm white will work for me in the kitchens, and give the kitchen a warmth and inviting atmosphere. Though another friend has just had a fabulous new kitchen and used this Orla Kiely House for Harlequin Multi Stem stylish wallpaper just on one wall, and it is just the bees knees, when can I move in? I asked after seeing the finished space! Plus she informed me there are lots of Orla Kiely matching accessories, here are just a few to wet your appetite.
